Greetings
Chair, the 25th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Anti-Aging Medicine
Hironori Nakagami, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Health Development and Medicine, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine

A quarter of a century since the establishment of the Japanese Society of Anti-Aging Medicine, the 25th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Anti-Aging Medicine will be held at the Osaka International Convention Center from June 13 (Fri.) to 15 (Sun.), 2025. 2025 is also the year of the Osaka Kansai Expo, and I look forward to seeing you all in Osaka.
Japan is now one of the countries with the world's longest life expectancy, and will become the fastest super-aging society on earth. In other words, we will be the first country in the world to take on the challenge of how to create a prosperous future society while facing the current situation of human aging that developed and developing countries will face in the near future. In Japan, the year 2025 is considered to be a milestone as the time when we enter an era in which the proportion of the elderly population will increase, and we have been promoting social development for the so-called, 2025 problem. Various measures are being actively promoted, such as measures to cope with the declining birthrate, acceptance of foreign workers, realization of a society in which women play an active role, and securing the labor force through senior employment and social participation. In such a society, individual well-being every day through the practice of anti-aging medicine, which is the goal of this society, will be an important foundation to support the future of the super-aging society. In addition, the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods based on advances in science and technology may lead to solutions to social issues if healthy life expectancy can be extended.
With an eye on the coming 100-year life period, and with a sense of accomplishing the creation of a prosperous future together, the theme for this conference is "A Quarter Century of Anti-Aging Medicine, Let's Go for It (Ganbarouze).” People from a variety of fields participate in this conference, and it is characterized by a wide range of research fields from basic medicine to clinical practice. Even though the fields are different, I expect that the accumulation of individual efforts and strength in aging research and the practice of anti-aging medicine will be a source of power to drive the future society, and I tried to put my feeling in this word "Ganbarouze".
At this academic conference, we would like to prepare not only for you to acquire cutting-edge knowledge of basic aging research and clinical findings at the scientific meetings, but also for you to have opportunities to interact and expand your connections with other researchers. The Chairman's Special Program will include a reception at the Osaka Kansai Expo site, a morning run project, a reception at the conference site, and special guests. We hope that all participants will experience learning and playing well. See you in Osaka.
