時下、皆様におかれましては益々ご清栄のこととお慶び申し上げます。
このたび、第80回NPO法人日本口腔科学会学術集会を、2026年4月16日（木）から18日（土）までの3日間、新潟市の朱鷺メッセにて開催いたします。記念すべき第80回大会の大会長を拝命いたしましたことを、大変光栄に存じますとともに、本学術集会の成功に向け、鋭意準備を進めてまいりました。
日本口腔科学会は、長きにわたり口腔科学の発展に貢献し、歯科医学と医学の架け橋として重要な役割を担ってまいりました。近年、口腔の健康が全身の健康と密接に関わる医科歯科連携の重要性は、超高齢社会の進展とともにますます高まっています。「食べる」「話す」「表情をつくる」といった人間らしい生活を支える口腔機能の重要性を再認識し、多分野の協働を通じてその未来を創造していくことが、今、私たちに課せられた使命です。
そこで、本大会ではメインテーマを「多分野協働が創る口腔科学の未来」と掲げました。
口腔科学の発展は、歯科医師だけでなく、医師、看護師、歯科衛生士、歯科技工士、管理栄養士、言語聴覚士、理学療法士、薬剤師、診療放射線技師など、多岐にわたる専門職の英知を結集することで実現するものと考えます。また、口腔外科、口腔病理、歯科放射線や歯科麻酔、歯科基礎医学や保存、補綴、歯科矯正、小児歯科、口腔リハなどの歯科医学内における多分野協働なくして今後の発展は望めません。本大会では、それぞれの専門性を尊重しつつ、知見と技術を集約することで、より包括的で質の高い口腔医療を追求する道筋について議論が深まることを期待しております。
メインテーマに基づき、本大会では多角的な視点からのシンポジウムや講演を多数企画しております。多分野連携の先進事例、地域医療とのかかわり、AIをはじめとするデジタル技術がもたらす革新など、未来を見据えた多彩なプログラムをご用意しました。また、海外招聘講演や特別講演では、特に超音波診断の分野で第一線でご活躍されている先生方をお招きし、口腔科学の新たな地平を拓く示唆に富んだお話を伺う予定です。若手研究者や多職種間の交流を促進する企画も充実させ、皆様にとって実り多く、刺激的な学会となるよう尽力してまいります。
開催地である新潟市は、美しい自然と豊かな食文化に恵まれた魅力に満ちた都市です。学術的な議論とともに、葉桜の時季を迎える新潟の春の風情もお楽しみいただければ幸いです。

I would like to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes for your continued health and prosperity.
It is my great honor to serve as President of the 80th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Stomatological Society, which will be held over three days from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Toki Messe in Niigata City. As this meeting marks a significant milestone, I am deeply honored to assume this responsibility and have been diligently preparing to ensure the success of this academic gathering.
For many years, the Japanese Stomatological Society has played a vital role in advancing oral science and serving as a bridge between dental and medical fields. In recent years, the importance of medical-dental collaboration—highlighting the close relationship between oral health and systemic health—has become increasingly evident, particularly in the context of a rapidly aging society. We must once again recognize the essential role of oral functions—such as eating, speaking, and expressing emotions—in supporting human dignity and quality of life, and it is our mission to shape their future through collaboration across multiple disciplines.
With this in mind, the main theme of the 80th Annual Meeting is:
“The Future of Oral Science Created by Interdisciplinary Collaboration.”
The advancement of oral science cannot be achieved by dentists alone. It requires the collective expertise of a wide range of professionals, including physicians, nurses, dental hygienists, dental technicians, registered dietitians, speech-language-hearing therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, and radiological technologists. Furthermore, continued progress also depends on close collaboration across various dental specialties, such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral pathology, dental radiology, dental anesthesiology, oral biosciences, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral rehabilitation. We hope this meeting will promote in-depth discussions on how to integrate these diverse areas of expertise to achieve more comprehensive and higher-quality oral healthcare.
Based on this theme, we are organizing a wide variety of symposia and lectures from multiple perspectives. These will include leading examples of interdisciplinary collaboration, approaches to community-based healthcare, and innovations driven by digital technologies such as artificial intelligence. In addition, we are honored to invite distinguished speakers from Japan and abroad, particularly leading experts in the field of ultrasonography, whose insightful lectures are expected to open new horizons in oral science. We are also preparing programs to encourage engagement among young researchers and to promote interaction across different professions, ensuring a fruitful and stimulating experience for all participants.
Niigata City, the host of this meeting, is a vibrant city blessed with beautiful natural surroundings and a rich culinary culture. As the season transitions into late spring, with fresh greenery emerging, we hope you will enjoy not only stimulating academic discussions but also the charm of Niigata.
