Welcome Message
It is a great honor and privilege to invite you to the International Session at the 31st Research Council Meeting of the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which will be held on October 13 and 14, 2022 at the Okayama Convention Center in Okayama, Japan.
For this meeting, we have planned special and educational lectures, luncheon seminars, symposium, panel discussions, and free papers sessions under the grand theme of “Change the Soil for Learning and Creation”. The diverse content of those programs, all based on the theme, will promote innovative knowledge and skills, and contribute to development of translational research and creation of new materials for the next generation of surgeons in various filed of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Furthermore, we believe this International Session will foster greater mutual understanding among the plastic surgeons in Asia through sharing and exchanging a wide variety of the latest information that is fluid, with a focus on both basic and clinical research. Also, we aspire that this collaboration leads to great advances in our field from Asian countries in the future.
Okayama city is known as a cultural zone that embraces both traditional and modern cultural heritages including Okayama castle and “Korakuen”, which is one of the three great gardens in Japan, as well as a variety of museums. Also the city is an important transport hub of western Japan and easily accessed from Tokyo and Osaka. I am sure that all participants will be pleased with our choice of venues.

I am looking forward to welcoming to all of you to the 31st Research Council Meeting of the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

“The Research Council Meeting of the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (commonly known as J-PSRC)” was established in 1992 as the meeting mainly focused on the basic research. Having had recognized the importance of basic research in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (JSPRS) decided to separate the research council meeting from the traditional annual scientific meeting and has operated it independently. Through these 30 years, many presentations given at this meeting have not only proven basic data to answer clinical questions and established basic evidence for clinical application, but have also produced a variety of surgical innovations and achievements.  Some of them have surely been delivered to patients.

There are still very few academic societies in the world, especially in Asian countries, that focus on both basic and clinical researches in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. JSPRS believes that it is important to disseminate valuable information from Asia to the world, and will therefore provide a platform for plastic surgeons from various countries to present their “state-of-the-art” basic research progresses in English starting in 2022 at the 31st J-PSRC. We are hoping that this exchange of information will develop into mutual collaborations among researchers in the future.

We hope that this International Session at J-PSRC will be a good opportunity for our members and plastic surgeons from all over the world to have an international exchange through basic research in plastic surgery. Sincerely.

Sincerely,
